Aria is a 15 y.o. Standardbred mare that was rescued from a kill pen through our partnership with the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.  She arrived at Midnight's Promise too traumatized to be touched, haltered, or handled.  Over the course of several months, we worked to gain her trust so we could get her haltered and vetted.

In the past year, Aria has come very far.  She is trusting and enjoys treats and showers from the volunteers at Midnight's Promise.  She has received saddle training from Stacey Carter of Heart Centered Horsemanship.  Aria has been a willing student and exhibits the same sweet personality typical of her breed.  She will stand quietly to be tacked and mounted, loads into a trailer quietly, is good for the farrier,  Aria is green under saddle but will ride out alone on a trail.  She still needs to be exposed to trail obstacles.  It is necessary to get off and lead her past new things she encounters.  We are glad that she doesn't spook but merely freezes. 

 

Aria has received her rabies and 5-in-one vaccinations in May and is microchipped.

Aria is available for adoption.  Because she is green under saddle, we will not adopt her to a green rider.  Her adoption fee is $500.  If you are interested in meeting Aria please contact us for an appointment.
